Controlling a remote PC with Remote-Assist Within 4 business hours of applying for a trial account you should receive an email containing a 4 digit account number along with an admin and client password. If you don't receive this email please phone 0800-6337483 (NZ only) or us.
Open a web browser at http://ra.net.nz and enter the account number and client password and download and run the resulting program.
The Loading message should appear and within 5 seconds Remote-Assist should start - A prompt should appear on the Support PC running the 'Remote-Control' software asking them to take control of your PC..
To close the program and prevent remote access simply click 'End Remote-Assist 2.8". Install Remote-AssistTo install Remote-Assist click 'File' then 'Install'. Remote control of your PC will still ony be possible if you manually activate Remote-Assist by clicking the desktop icon.You will need administrator rights to install Remote-Assist. Note that if the blue bar at the top of the Remote-Assist program contains 'Remote-Assist' the current user has administrator rights. If the blue bar contains 'Remote Assist' (no '-' between Remote and Assist) the current user does not have administrator rights.
Remote RebootOnce you have installed Remote-Assist you have the option of can restarting the PC remotely. To set the remote restart options click 'File' then 'Reboot'.
You will be able to choose the user to log on as after the reboot.
Unattended ActivationOnce you have installed Remote-Assist you can choose to set 'Unattended Activation' by clicking 'File' then 'Unattended'.
Click the 'Tick Box' followed by 'Save' to set 'Unattended Activation mode'.
This will start Remote-Assist whenever a user logs on to Windows and will allow your PC to remotely controlled at any time the PC is logged on. Log On To Windows Autmatically After RebootIf you set 'Unattended Activation' mode and then use the 'Reboot' function the PC will automatically log on as the selected windows user whenever the PC restarts. Remote-Assist will then allow access to this PC whenever the PC is switched on.

When the Remote-Control program starts you must enter the admin password and click 'Connect'. Within 20 seconds of clicking 'Connect' a message should appear on the controlling PC prompting you to take control of the remote PC. Note that if the remote PC has been set up to function in 'Unattended Activation mode' then it may take 2-3 minutes to respond.
Click 'Yes' and a window should open on your desktop showing the remote PC's Destop.
You can select 'Options' then 'Install' if you want to permanently install Remote-Control.
