Upgrading Remote-Assist While Remotely Connected

Notes:
  • The latest version of Remote-Assist is 2.8 and the latest version of Remote-Control is 2.6.

  • The following scenarios assume that you are connected to a remote PC which is running either version 2.1 or 2.4

  • There is no need to upgrade but the new versions are more reliable and offer increased functionality

  • If you download the latest version of Remote-Assist from ra.net.nz and it is only version 2.6 please email us and we will upgrade your executables.

  • The current version of the Remote-Control program is 2.6. If you are using an earlier version please download the latest version from ra.net.nz/rc.


Upgrading from 2.1

Download and run the latest version from ra.net.nz.

When the new version runs it should detect the old version and disconnect it and after 6-8 seconds reconnect using the new version.

Open 'Add or Remove Programs' in Control Panel' and uninstall Remote-Assist 2.1.

On Remote-Assist 2.8 click 'File' - 'Install' to install the new version.



Upgrading from 2.4

Delete the Desktop shortcut to Remote-Assist 2.6

Download and run the latest version from ra.net.nz.

When the new version runs it should detect the old version and disconnect it and after 6-8 seconds reconnect using the new version.

Remote-Assist 2.6 will automatically uninstall when it is shutdown by Remote-Assist 2.8.

On Remote-Assist 2.8 click 'File' - 'Install' to install the new version.
